Features: The Radio and TV University has been established for over twenty years since 1979, cultivating hundreds of thousands of high-level legal professionals for the country. In 1999, to adapt to China's social and economic development and the need to build a socialist rule-of-law state, the Ministry of Education's Modern Distance Education Project—the Radio and TV University's "Reform and Open Education Pilot Program for Talent Cultivation"—was launched as a national key research project. The reform and open education pilot program for undergraduate legal talent cultivation is an important part of this project. To optimize educational resources, the Radio and TV University partnered with the China University of Political Science and Law to launch a bachelor's degree program starting from a junior college level in law. Additionally, experts from universities such as Peking University and Renmin University of China were invited to participate in the development of teaching resources. To better explore the principles of modern distance open education and fully reflect the characteristics of student-centered learning, the Radio and TV University, drawing on its over two decades of experience in education, made reforms in the format and design of textbooks to suit students' learning needs. In terms of content, the textbooks strive to highlight practicality, enabling students to grasp the fundamental concepts and theoretical frameworks of the discipline, develop the ability to analyze and solve problems, and cultivate self-learning and innovative thinking skills to meet the demands of the talent cultivation reform and open education program. While developing written textbooks, we also supplemented them with audio recordings, video materials, CAI (Computer-Assisted Instruction), and online courseware to provide learners with learning and support services. This series of textbooks is part of the Radio and TV University's implementation of the Ministry of Education's "Reform and Open Education Pilot Program for Talent Cultivation" in the field of law.
