This book is divided into sections such as Political Participation, Education, Rights Protection, and Health, deeply exploring the achievements of Beijing's women's cause in theoretical research, surveys, and practical work over the past decade. It serves as an excellent commemoration of the Fourth World Conference on Women and a summary of the development of women's causes over the past decade, laying a solid foundation for future women's development. As the capital of the country, Beijing faces heavy development tasks and significant responsibilities. Currently, Beijing's economic and social development exhibits three prominent characteristics: first, it has entered a critical stage of transforming growth models and adjusting structures; second, it has entered a key phase of rapidly advancing urbanization and building an livable city; third, it has entered a stage of building a model area for a harmonious society. In such a development stage, effectively carrying out women's work in the capital and promoting the development of women's causes in Beijing requires strengthening rational thinking and enhancing research capabilities for women's work, as well as striving to construct a women's work research system with capital-specific characteristics. This book aims to contribute to the construction of such a system. Building on the research of the past decade, it lays out a preliminary framework for a women's work research system. This framework serves as a starting point to attract more dedicated individuals in women's theoretical research and those concerned with women's causes to participate in research, pay more attention to the development of women in Beijing, and focus on the difficult and hot issues related to Beijing women. By leveraging the capital's talent advantages and integrating theoretical research resources for women, the goal is to produce more outcomes and provide strong theoretical support and practical summaries for the development of women's causes in Beijing.
