"The I Ching states: 'The sun and moon endure in the sky and continue to shine; the four seasons change and continue to bring forth growth. The sages, long devoted to their principles, bring transformation to the world.' Scholars, looking up to the brilliance of the celestial way and delving into the subtleties of the earthly way, hold the world in their hearts, ceaselessly seeking knowledge, diligently cultivating their studies, and persevering with unwavering dedication. Through the hardships of academic pursuits and the trials of the path of learning, they refine their character and polish their scholarship. Perhaps they may achieve the talent of a five-wheeled carriage and leave behind timeless works for posterity. It is said: Without the ceaseless efforts of scholars since the Yellow Emperor, how could the grandeur of thousands of years of Chinese civilization, spanning vast lands, be witnessed! Today, the School of Civil, Commercial, and Economic Law at China University of Political Science and Law represents a group of contemporary Chinese legal scholars. Established in 2002, it gathers the finest scholars from various related disciplines at the university and attracts renowned figures and emerging talents from around the world. The school comprises eight research institutes: Civil Law, Commercial Law, Economic Law, Civil Procedure Law, Environmental and Resource Law, Intellectual Property Law, Fiscal and Financial Law, and Labor and Social Security Law. To date, it has over 120 full-time faculty members, more than 50 part-time professors, 2,000 undergraduate students, and 1,500 graduate students, making it one of the largest teams of civil, commercial, and economic law scholars in China. Since 2003, the school has been dedicated to 'refining scholarship and delving into key issues,' establishing the 'Autumn Forum' as a platform for reviewing achievements and fostering exchange. On crisp autumn days, the entire school gathers in one place. The forum is divided into several sessions, each beginning with presentations by selected outstanding scholars (primarily young ones), followed by comments from renowned experts (primarily external ones). Attendees and guests engage in lively discussions, and the session concludes with a summary by the host. The forum is elegant in its atmosphere and fervent in its exchanges, leaving participants with the feeling of 'the lingering sound of music, echoing for three days.' It is said: Scholars debating in grand halls, their spirits radiant; seeking knowledge in elegant chambers, their thoughts lingering in fragrance—such is the joy of learning. Through winding pine paths, talents emerge one after another; under maple forests, great leaders reside—such is the achievement of an academic institution."
