Features: The Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) was established at the end of 2000 by CIETAC and officially adopted the name "China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Online Dispute Resolution Center" on July 5, 2005. The Center is committed to providing parties with fast and efficient Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) services in the fields of intellectual property, information technology, and e-commerce. In 2003 and 2004, the Center experienced a significant increase in the number of cases it handled. Specifically, 108 cases were accepted in 2003, and 89 cases in 2004. Among the various types of cases handled by the Center in 2003 and 2004, a large number of well-known domestic and international trademarks and brands were involved, such as Caesar, Sharp, Hello Kitty, Burberry, Disney, Via Gra, Laneige, BMW, AOL, Michelin, Porsche, Taobao, Tarzan, Omo, Samsung, OSRAM, The Body Shop, Fox, Dell, Toshiba, Manni Fen, and Anli Fang, among others. To promptly summarize and share experiences, we have selected and compiled the judgments of various types of cases accepted and concluded by the Center from 2003 to 2004 for publication. We hope to provide direct and comprehensive materials for relevant legislative bodies, legal research institutions, law schools, the legal profession, and business professionals in the fields of domain name disputes and online dispute resolution.
