Currently, the civil servant recruitment examination has basically formed a regulatory system for the examination and recruitment process, including written tests, interviews, physical examinations, and assessments. For graduates, civil servant recruitment has become a major channel for employment; for social personnel, in recent years, civil servant recruitment examinations at central and national government agencies have increasingly shown a trend of providing recruitment positions for those with work experience. Various provinces and cities have also organized specialized civil servant examinations for social personnel based on different job requirements, making civil servant examinations the best way for social personnel to enter the civil service. As of 2005, more than 4 million candidates had participated in civil servant examinations at various levels, with over 800,000 being admitted to the civil service. In 2006, over 360,000 candidates participated in the national civil servant examination, but only over 20,000 were actually recruited, making its level of competition surpass that of college entrance exams, postgraduate entrance exams, and various qualification exams, truly earning the title of "China's Exam."
