Features: This book takes the application of MATLAB in automatic control as the main line, comprehensively and systematically introducing the principles and methods of using MATLAB 7.1 for control system modeling, simulation, analysis, and design. The main content of this book includes an introduction to MATLAB and its common functions, the establishment and conversion of mathematical models for control systems, control system analysis and design, control system modeling and simulation based on Simulink 6.3, and analysis and design tools for feedback control systems. On the basis of these contents, the book also provides many carefully designed examples and typical application cases of MATLAB. The book is divided into 7 chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to MATLAB, which introduces the characteristics and overview of MATLAB, giving readers a general understanding of MATLAB. Chapter 2 introduces the basic usage methods and common functions of MATLAB, such as basic operations, numerical and symbolic operations, graphical expression capabilities, and basic programming concepts. The content of this chapter serves as the foundation for subsequent chapters. Chapter 3 introduces the methods of using MATLAB to establish and convert mathematical models for control systems, involving mathematical models such as transfer functions (or transfer function matrices) of linear time-invariant systems, pulse transfer functions, and state-space expressions. The content of this chapter lays the foundation for the analysis and design of control systems. Chapter 4 introduces the methods of using MATLAB for control system analysis and design. Chapter 5 introduces control system modeling and simulation based on Simulink, where readers can appreciate the powerful capabilities of Simulink. Chapter 6 introduces MATLAB's feedback control system analysis and design tools. Chapter 7 introduces MATLAB application cases. Appendix A of this book introduces the connection method between MATLAB Notebook and Microsoft Word, and Appendix B is a glossary of abbreviations. This book can be used as a textbook or reference book for undergraduate students majoring in automation in universities and colleges, and can also be used as a reference book for graduate students, teachers, and science and technology workers. This book introduces the introduction to MATLAB and its common functions, the establishment and conversion of mathematical models for control systems, control system analysis and design, control system modeling and simulation based on Simulink 6.3, and analysis and design tools for feedback control systems.
