In today's era, we have entered an information-based society where everyone is involved in the creation, transmission, and reception of information. Among various forms of information, news stands out as the one with the highest density of content and the broadest influence. With the rapid development of media technology, the speed of news updates has accelerated, and the subject of writing is becoming increasingly diversified, tending to extend beyond the journalist community. Therefore, the compilation of this book is not only intended to provide a reference for professional news workers but also to offer effective assistance to a broader group of news participants. The book is divided into four parts. The first part introduces the theoretical requirements that must be followed in news writing, which is also the minimum standard for writing news. The second and third parts respectively elaborate on the specific writing methods of print news from the perspectives of news format requirements and news genre requirements, accompanied by a large number of recent news drafts for reference and comparison. The fourth part discusses the rise of new technologies and new media in recent years, particularly emphasizing the uniqueness of online news and the transformation in news writing itself brought about by the paperless and electronicization of news. The book covers most aspects of news writing, including news commentary writing, which has traditionally been considered separate from news writing.
