Features: This book is the outcome of a research project proposed in 2002 to the Zhejiang Provincial Association of Social Sciences. Its purpose is to systematically examine, organize, and analyze the themes and spirit of Zhejiang East Academic thought. It also elaborates and explains the origins, roots, and evolution of Zhejiang East Academic thought as understood by the authors. Additionally, it distills and summarizes the intellectual creations of historical academic masters in the Zhejiang East region from the perspective of "academic spirit." The book is divided into two parts: the first part is titled "General Discussion on the Spirit of Zhejiang East Academic Thought," and the second part is "The Academic Spirit of Zhejiang East Academic Masters." Against the backdrop of the long-standing ancient Yue culture and Chinese culture, the book traces the origins of Zhejiang East Academic thought. From multiple perspectives—such as the inheritability of intellectual culture, the tortuous and diverse development of social history, the regional specificity of folk customs, and the theoretical originality of thinkers and scholars—the book elucidates the formation, fluctuations, prosperity, and spread of Zhejiang East Academic thought and its related schools. Based on this, it summarizes and refines the intrinsic spirit of Zhejiang East Academic thought.
