Features: Numerical control (NC) machining is an advanced processing technology in mechanical manufacturing. Its widespread use has brought profound changes to the production methods, product structures, and industrial structures of the mechanical manufacturing industry, serving as the foundation for achieving automated, flexible, and integrated production in the manufacturing sector. To adapt to this trend, under the guidance of the Mechanical Discipline Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, multiple meetings were organized across national ordinary universities from 2005 to 2006, leading to the establishment of a writing group for high-quality mechanical textbooks in ordinary universities. The curriculum frameworks for each textbook and course structure were determined. This book was developed based on the fundamental requirements of the "Numerical Control Technology" course, as agreed upon in the meetings, and is aligned with the educational objectives, knowledge, skills, and competency requirements of ordinary universities. It follows the textbook writing outline for the course. The book is divided into eight chapters, introducing the basic concepts, principles, calculation methods, and design approaches of numerical control machines. In line with the needs of mechanical engineering and automation programs, it emphasizes the hardware and software structures of computer numerical control (CNC) systems, feed servo systems, detection devices, manual programming of CNC machining programs, and automatic programming using MASTERCAM software. The book features up-to-date content, comprehensive coverage, and is structured around the internal information flow processing of CNC systems, progressing from fundamentals to advanced topics in a systematic and practical manner. It closely integrates theory with practice, emphasizes the combination of electromechanics and systems thinking, and reflects the cutting-edge developments in the field of CNC system technology worldwide. This book is primarily intended as a textbook for "Numerical Control Technology" courses in mechanical engineering and automation programs at higher technical universities. It can also be used as a teaching material for evening universities, correspondence courses, and worker universities in similar fields. Additionally, it serves as a reference for engineering technicians engaged in numerical control technology, CNC machine design, and research.
