This book comprehensively integrates and organizes chemistry experiment courses that were previously subordinate to various chemistry courses, such as general chemistry experiments, analytical chemistry experiments, organic chemistry experiments, physical chemistry and colloid chemistry experiments, and instrumental analysis experiments, into a brand-new, self-contained system. It includes common chemistry experiments offered by most universities for non-chemistry majors, while also incorporating some teaching reforms and scientific research achievements from higher education institutions. The content is rich, the structure is novel and rational. The book consists of an introduction, basic knowledge of experimental chemistry, experimental chemistry operational skills, preparation, separation, and purification of substances, determination of physical and chemical constants, chemical properties of substances, quantitative analysis of substances, organic synthesis, chromatographic instrumental analysis, spectroscopic instrumental analysis, qualitative and structural analysis of organic compounds, electrochemistry and electrochemical instrumental analysis, chemical thermodynamics and kinetics as well as kinetic instrumental analysis, surface chemistry and colloid chemistry as well as electrophoretic instrumental analysis, comprehensive experiments and self-designed experiments, and an introduction to instruments. It is divided into two volumes. This book is the preferred textbook for independent chemistry experiment courses in agricultural, forestry, aquaculture, and light industry colleges, as well as other relevant disciplines in various institutions. It can also be used in conjunction with other chemistry textbooks.
The second edition of Experimental Chemistry is a project under the "New Century Educational and Teaching Reform Project" of the Ministry of Education—the research and practice project of teaching reform for agricultural and forestry experimental courses—and also a research outcome of the national planning project of the "15th Five-Year Plan" in educational sciences. It has been appropriately adjusted, supplemented, and enriched based on the original textbook. To make the textbook more scientific, three-dimensional, and premium, a multimedia CD-ROM (distributed with the book) and a question bank have been created, making it even more suitable as a textbook for biological, food, resource and environmental, plant protection, agricultural, forestry, horticulture, vegetable, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine majors, as well as other related disciplines. It can also be read by the general public.
