Features: Most beginners in French are often troubled by the complex grammar and difficult vocabulary in the language. They may memorize many grammatical rules and accumulate a large number of words, yet still find it hard to speak. Achieving fluency in French within a short period and expressing oneself freely is indeed not an easy task. However, true French communication lies not in using profound grammar and vocabulary, but in mastering a wealth of expression habits. Many idiomatic expressions have relatively fixed forms, mostly employing simple grammar and vocabulary, and short sentence structures. Such expressions need to be accumulated—not only the forms of expression but also an understanding of the contexts in which they are used. This book makes a new attempt in training oral expression. Readers will directly enter certain daily communication scenarios and learn authentic French ways of interaction. During the compilation of this book, the authors collected a large number of simple and practical short sentences, incorporating them into dialogues with Chinese translations for reference. Regarding the expressions listed in this book, the authors would like to make two points: First, despite our long-term collection efforts, our findings are merely a tiny tip of the iceberg of French oral expression, and we hope to offer readers a new learning approach—imitation. Second, most sentence structures in this book are highly colloquial and common, so readers should carefully consider the contexts and occasions in which they are used when learning and applying them. Here, we would like to extend special thanks to Mr. Jean-Paul DELATTRE, our friend Dominique, and all the friends at the French FLETC College for their sincere assistance. At the same time, we are grateful to the French experts Hélène LEMERLE and Matthias MASSOULIER for recording the audio for this book. Their involvement ensures the authority of the oral language in this book and its relevance and practicality for use in China.
