Features: This dictionary strives to present a comprehensive view of each historical phenomenon during its compilation, paying attention to incorporating new research findings. When selecting historical materials, it considers aspects such as politics, economy, culture, and ethnicity. In the explanations, each historical phenomenon is treated with the aim of being comprehensive and objective, often accompanied by a general overview to reveal its essence. Given the special circumstances of prehistory lacking direct written records, the writing primarily draws on archaeological artifacts and myths to compensate for the absence of historical materials. Additionally, historical sites from other periods in China and the world are included to provide insights into historical phenomena from multiple perspectives. In terms of organization, Chinese history is arranged in the order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods. The chronological divisions of each historical period follow the commonly accepted views in contemporary Chinese historiography. Each entry for a historical period is ordered chronologically. Entries whose content spans multiple historical periods are generally placed in the earliest period they appear. Entries that are difficult to order chronologically are placed at the end of the relevant historical period. World history is also arranged in the order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods, with chronological divisions following the latest views in Chinese historiography. For each historical period, entries are first organized by country and then by chronological order.
