Features: Buddhist scripture translation theory is the beginning of China's translation tradition and one of the important research topics in Chinese translation studies. However, the original materials are mostly scattered in stone-printed ancient books, making them difficult to find, and they are written in ancient Chinese, which poses a certain challenge for general readers to understand. With the development of modern translation studies, there is a need for a modern version that general readers can easily read. This book consists of a theoretical part and a critical part. It is a collection of theories on Buddhist scripture translation, gathering discussions by monks and scholars from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty over 900 years. Target Audience: Translation scholars and students and faculty of translation departments in universities.
