Features: Writing is the process of written communication through words. A common issue in foreign language teaching is how to transform the foreign language knowledge taught in the classroom into a genuine and purposeful medium of communication for students. This transformation is not only about using the language for necessary communication but also includes using it as a tool for self-expression and creativity. Only when foreign language learners can use the language in an original way can they construct meaning through foreign language, participate in real communication, and engage in language production activities. To achieve this goal, writing instruction plays a crucial role in foreign language teaching. Issues such as how to teach writing, what skills students need to master, what writing materials best serve the students they teach, and what difficulties students face in writing—all need to be explored, experimented with, and resolved in teaching. Teachers must understand theoretical research in relevant fields such as linguistics, applied linguistics, rhetoric, cognitive science, and sociocultural studies, particularly the latest trends and research developments. Guided by theory and combined with their practical teaching experiences, teachers can find suitable methods for their writing instruction. Additionally, in the process of applying theory, teachers can further enrich and develop existing theories to a certain extent.
