Features: With the acceleration of globalization and the integration of the world economy, economic development has surpassed the administrative boundaries of nations and regions. Various types of economic zones, each with unique characteristics and functions, are flourishing worldwide. The spatial form of domestic economic development is also shifting from the closed, self-contained model of individual cities or administrative regions to a regional spatial organization model based on the natural flow of economic activities. This book is based on the research project "Coordination Development Research of the Upper Yangtze River Economic Belt." This project is one of the major decision-making consulting projects of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and a key research project for the Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission in formulating the "11th Five-Year Plan for the National Economic and Social Development of Chongqing." The project has received high attention from municipal government leaders and relevant departments. To ensure the quality of the research, a project leadership team was established across the city, headed by Vice Mayor Tong Xiaoping with members from relevant municipal departments. Additionally, an institute-level project leadership team was formed at the Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences, chaired by Dr. Chen Shu, the institute's president, with Deputy Presidents Xiao Changfu and Meng Dongfang as vice chairs. Dr. Wei Hukai, a distinguished researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and vice president of the Chinese Regional Science Association, was appointed as the project advisor. Guided by fundamental theories of regional economic development and based on existing research findings on the Upper Yangtze River Economic Belt, the project compiled a large volume of statistical data and collected extensive primary sources. Research tasks were assigned to team members based on their research expertise or professional focus, followed by multiple rounds of feedback from relevant municipal departments. The initial, mid-term, and final research findings were subjected to scientific evaluation and refinement through discussions with experts both within and outside the city.
