Care & Ironing Methods
Proper cleaning and ironing are key to extending the life of your scarves. Don’t casually handle them due to carelessness or laziness, as this may cause them to deform.
You can dry-clean your scarves at a laundry or wash them yourself. Whether you can wash them at home depends on the material. If they are 100% pure silk, wool, or fur, it’s best to dry-clean them, as washing at home can easily cause shrinkage or deformation. For pure cotton, machine-washable silk, or other synthetic fibers, you can wash them at home, but be mindful of potential color fading.
How to Wash a Scarf
1. Add warm water and a small amount of cold detergent to a basin, then place the scarf in it and gently rub it with your hands a few times.
2. Soak the scarf in the water for about 10 minutes, gently stirring it occasionally.
3. Rinse the scarf thoroughly with clean water.
4. Lay a dry towel flat, place the scarf on top, and roll the towel up, pressing the scarf to absorb the moisture.
5. Pinch the scarf between two clothespins and let it air-dry.
Tip: Never wring out a wet scarf with your hands, as this can cause wrinkles and deformation.
How to Iron a Scarf
Different scarf materials require different ironing temperatures, so be careful not to set the iron too hot.
A. Ironing Board
Cover the scarf with a cloth as a barrier, then iron it from the inside out. Avoid ironing back and forth repeatedly or leaving the iron in one spot for too long.
B. Vertical Iron
Pair it with a hanger designed for hanging scarves for easy use.
C. Hairdryer
Lightly mist the scarf with water, then dry it with a hairdryer.
Stain Removal Tips
1. Food Sauce Stains: Apply stain remover to a cotton pad and press it gently onto the stain, then rinse it in water and gently scrub.
2. Lipstick or Ballpoint Pen Marks: Mist the stained area with water, apply a mild cleaning cream, and rinse it with water and gentle scrubbing.
