Features: This book focuses on major themes directly related to contemporary society and people's livelihoods. It is a culmination of research based on the author's extensive investigations and observations over the years. The content covers issues such as income distribution, social security, healthcare and education, charity and public welfare, labor employment, migrant workers and farmers, disaster and accident relief, and related legal frameworks in the construction of a harmonious socialist society. It prominently reflects the author's value orientation and theoretical reflections on scientific development and shared harmony. It is the author's latest academic work, following the publication of Concerning Livelihoods and Building a Harmonious Society by the same publisher, integrating characteristics of thoughtfulness, academic rigor, knowledge, timeliness, and foresight. The author positions today's China as the "post-reform and opening-up era," emphasizing the dual mission of today's reforms and proposing the concept of "shared harmony." The author argues that the widening gaps in wealth, urban-rural disparities, regional disparities, and the imbalance of interests between labor and capital, as well as migrant workers and urban residents, along with the development of various livelihood issues such as education, healthcare, social security, and employment, are largely due to the failure of different social strata to reasonably share the fruits of national reform and development. Therefore, only by successfully ensuring that the achievements of national development are reasonably shared by all, can society truly achieve harmonious development. The author explicitly states that without development, there can be no shared material wealth, and without sharing, there will be social conflict. Conversely, the more developed a society, the richer its material foundation, and the ability to share can eliminate social conflicts. Without conflict, social harmony can be achieved. Development, sharing, and harmony are the interrelated key elements that constitute a nation's healthy, civilized, and sustainable development.
