The Legend of Yue Fei: Yue Fei (1103-1142), a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, began learning martial arts under Zhou Ting since his childhood. He sworn brotherhood with Zhang Xian, Tang Huai, Wang Gui, and Niu Gao. He joined the army to serve his country, caused a stir in the military examination hall, speared Xiao Liang, and was to be punished by the treacherous minister Zhang Bangchang. He was saved by the master Zong Ze and fled back to his hometown. Soon after, the Jin forces invaded the Song Dynasty, and Zhang Bangchang betrayed his country, leading to the capture of Emperors Huizong and Qinzong. King Gaozong of Kang moved south to proclaim himself emperor, and Yue Fei was summoned to the court by imperial decree. He led the Yue Family Army to resist the Jin forces, achieving fame after three battles in Hebei. He rescued the emperor at Niutoushan and won a great victory at Zhuxian Town. Just as he was advancing north to fight the enemy and attack Huanglongfu, the court issued twelve imperial orders to summon him back to the capital. Soon after, due to his firm opposition to the Southern Song court's policy of peace and surrender, he and his son were executed in Fēngbō Pavilion of the Dali Temple in Hangzhou by Emperor Gaozong and Qin Hui on the charge of "having no crime," creating a tragic injustice of the ages. Yue Fei's spirit of loyal patriotism became an eternal model for the Chinese nation. The book features exciting chapters such as "Spearing Xiao Liang Wang," "Yue Mu's Tattoo," "Eight Hundred Defeating Ten Thousand," "Wang Zuo's Amputated Arm," "Yue Lei's Promotion to Commander," and "Killing Wuzhu and Making Niu Gao Laugh to Death," which are widely beloved and vividly portrayed.
