Therefore, it is an innovative preliminary education aimed at cultivating outstanding design talents. Design sketching is a sketching form guided by design concepts, involving various sketching and creative practices with the teaching objective of art and design. For a long period, design disciplines' sketching teaching followed the content and methods of disciplines. In teaching, we have deeply felt the continuous rupture and contradiction between sketching teaching aimed at cultivating concrete painting abilities and that aimed at training abstract forms and design conceptualization. How to make sketching become a training for the essence of design creation rather than merely an artificial artistic expression training has become a crucial issue that design teaching and research must address. In the past decade, design fundamentals researchers and practitioners have actively explored the concepts, objectives, methods, and significance of sketching training as a fundamental education for design, from the terminal of design practice, the initial of design education, and the various problems encountered in design thinking and creation.
