We have organized professors and renowned painters from various high-level art colleges in China, who have achieved success in the art world, possess academic expertise, and have rich experience in painting, teaching, and creation, to act as the authors of this series. They provide detailed analyses from various aspects such as material preparation for painting, creative conception, creative process, finishing works, and work critiques. Through clear and accessible technical guidance, learners can grasp comprehensive and systematic creative principles, thereby building a stepping stone to the of ink painting art.
This series is divided into five major formats and specifications: scrolls, square frames, fan-shaped paintings, round frames, and albums. Each major section depicts three forms—floral and bird, landscape, and figure—resulting in a total of fifteen volumes. Each volume contains fifty self-drawn examples by the authors, guiding learners through aspects such as paper and brush preparation, composition arrangement, painting process, seal appreciation, and work critiques. Additionally, it includes methods for folding paper, inscribing captions, using seals, common painting knowledge, and an anthology of poetry for painting, all to enhance practicality.
This series aims to provide learners with practical technical guidance and specific references, but true mastery requires readers to practice tirelessly. It is by no means a universal key to excellence just because of the guidance from renowned artists. To think that this alone can lead to artistic perfection is impossible. If one blindly believes in books, they may indeed fail to achieve anything!
