Features: When photographer Long Mei asked me to shoot this photo album, his original intention was to shoot a Chinese nude photo album. Before that, there were also invitations for me to shoot nude photos, but I didn’t have Tang Jiali’s courage. While being happy that others appreciate my body, I also had too many reservations. I was afraid people would only focus on my body, afraid of too many comments I couldn’t handle, afraid my family would feel embarrassed if they saw it... A foreign friend once commented on me: Your thoughts are both modern and open, yet very traditional. Perhaps this is also a common trait among those born in the 1970s: in the transition between the past and the future, between tradition and openness. In the end, I reached an agreement with the photographer: to shoot a healthy, fit, and ethereal photo album.
