A cyst is located above the right testicle in the scrotum.

Patient's question:

In the scrotum, on the upper right testicle, there is a cyst that is more noticeable when crying or straining and almost invisible when at rest. I just noticed this morning the previous treatment and its effects: I want to know what this cyst is and whether it's serious.

Doctor's answer:

Hydrocele is commonly classified into three types: 1. Inguinal hydrocele. 2. Testicular hydrocele. 3. Communicating hydrocele. First, it is necessary to diagnose the type of hydrocele. Inguinal or testicular hydrocele may resolve spontaneously in infancy, so immediate surgery may not be required. If it is a communicating hydrocele, surgical treatment is necessary, but the timing of surgery should be determined. If the hydrocele mass is small and the tension is low, treatment can be postponed, and surgery can be performed when the child is 7 or 8 years old without delay. If the mass is large and the tension is high, and it compresses the inguinal canal and testis, surgical treatment should be performed.
