How to deal with prostate stones if you want to know

Patient's question:

In our class, there is a student whose parents reminded me that he has a health issue. He had several sudden fainting episodes and was sent to the hospital, where it was diagnosed as prostate stones. What should be done about prostate stones?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic calculi are true stones formed in the acini and ducts of the prostate gland. They can be as small as a grain of sand and as large as a bean, and are typically round, oval, or multi-faceted. The number can be one hundred or several, usually brown, dark brown, or black. Small stones are generally smoother. Transurethral resection of the prostate and calculi is the most common traditional surgical treatment. It is primarily used for young patients to prevent sexual dysfunction and can also be used for elderly and frail individuals to reduce physical interference. Unless surgery is performed, prostatic calculi will never grow or disappear. A light diet with low oil content is recommended, and it is advisable to consume foods rich in fiber. Drinking plenty of water or beverages that promote heat-clearing and detoxification is beneficial. Avoid spicy, fishy, and pungent foods, and limit sweet and greasy diets.
