Features: The selection of this collection, "Excerpts and Critiques of Modern Political Leaders' Speeches," was made primarily because most of the speech masterpieces originate from political leaders, and specifically from modern political leaders. Here, the concept of "modern" is defined by traditional historical periodization, with the upper limit set as the October Revolution of the Soviet Union and the lower limit extending to the early 1990s. To facilitate the writing of appreciation notes, the selected speakers are generally those who have been "judged by history," even if they are still alive, they have already withdrawn from the forefront of political history. There are a few exceptions, such as Castro, but he indeed has. First, his tenure as leader is long (already 43 years), and second, his speech "History Will Absolve Me" is a highly influential speech from the mid-20th century. As for "political leaders," in a broad sense, there are countless numbers of them. Limited by space, the scope defined here is that of government premiers or heads of state with obvious historical significance, but there are a few exceptions, such as Luxembourg, Montgomery, and Martin Luther King Jr. This is because, in terms of the political impact they had on their time, they are no less than a president or a premier. As for the arrangement of the speeches, it is a comprehensive consideration and weighing of factors such as the age of the speaker, the period of their activities and achievements on the political stage, and the time of the speech's delivery. The reader can understand this at a glance. The writing principle for each "critique" is: first, to briefly introduce the background of the speaker and the speech content, and second, to help readers grasp the key points of the speech and appreciate its artistic success.
