Patient's question:
The son of my friend is two years old this year. Compared to children of the same age, he always seems a bit different. He walks unsteadily and doesn't speak very well. My friend took him to the hospital for a check-up, and they said it might be cerebral palsy. I want to know what some of the more obvious symptoms of cerebral palsy children are. What are the early symptoms of cerebral palsy children?Doctor's answer:
The symptoms of cerebral palsy include:1. The presence of high-risk factors for cerebral palsy before, during, and after birth. Examples include infections during pregnancy (such as rubella), severe preeclampsia, asphyxia at birth, premature birth, severe jaundice, or intracranial hemorrhage in infancy.
2. Difficulty feeding after birth, such as weak sucking ability, weak or excessive crying, and easily being startled.
3. Excessive quietness and lack of active movement.
4. Delayed motor development. For example, a child aged 3 to 4 months who cannot hold their head up in a prone position or whose head control is unstable, or who still cannot support weight on their forearms at 4 months, or who stands on their toes or with overly straight or crossed legs when being supported to stand.
