How to treat varicocele effectively

Patient's question:

How is varicocele treated? How is varicocele treated?

Doctor's answer:

Mild cases involve varicose veins that are not palpable locally, causing only discomfort; moderate cases, where varicose veins can be felt when standing but are not visible externally; and severe cases, where varicose veins in the scrotum appear as worm-like or clustered formations.
Treatment for varicocele varies by severity. Mild cases can be managed conservatively through rest, wearing tight-fitting underwear, reducing strenuous exercise, and appropriately using blood-activating medications. However, moderate to severe cases, or those accompanied by infertility or abnormal semen, require surgical intervention. This is because varicocele obstructs blood, leading to impaired testicular circulation, which disrupts normal sperm production and excretion functions. Over time, this can result in testicular atrophy and loss of all functionality.
