What are the early symptoms of ADHD?

Patient's question:

My son has been restless lately. Generally, boys are active and playful, but now he seems different. Even when he's calm, he doesn't want to do his homework. I want to ask if my son might have ADHD?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, what people understand by ADHD is that the child is easily restless and likes to run around. However, ADHD should be more accurately called Attention Deficit Disorder.
Hyperactivity: The term "hyperactivity" refers to the inability to stop moving around. Children aged 4 or older should be able to sit still for about five minutes, but children with ADHD cannot. Within five minutes, they will be restless and keep moving around, unable to stay seated. At the same time, their attention is not focused, and older children often develop learning difficulties due to hyperactivity and inattention. The children struggle to concentrate on what the teacher is saying in class and cannot absorb the knowledge being taught.
