Features: This book is a planned teaching material for vocational colleges and higher vocational colleges under the Ministry of Education. It is compiled based on the newly formulated "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Mechanical Design Basics Course for Mechanical Majors" by the Ministry of Education, combined with the current needs of teaching reform and development. The book is divided into seventeen chapters, including: Introduction, Overview of Mechanical Design, Lubrication and Sealing Devices, Structural Analysis of Planar Mechanisms, Planar Linkage Mechanisms, Cam Mechanisms, Intermitting Motion Mechanisms, Threaded Connections and Screw Transmissions, Belt Drives, Chain Drives, Gear Drives, Screw Drives, Gear Trains, Shaft and Shaft-Hub Connections, Bearings, Other Common Components, Mechanical Balancing and Speed Regulation, and an Introduction to Mechanical Design CAD.
The features of the book are as follows:
1. Organically integrates the two courses of Mechanical Principles and Mechanical Parts.
2. Basic theories are presented to the extent of "necessary and sufficient," emphasizing practical teaching content.
3. The book appropriately introduces modern CAD design methods and new types and structures of mechanical components.
4. Fully adopts the International System of Units and comprehensively implements the new national standards.
5. Each chapter is accompanied by exercises, and appropriate discussion questions and classroom discussion topics are included in relevant chapters.
6. The book is supported by a companion volume, "Guidance Book for the Design of the Mechanical Design Basics Course."
The reference teaching hours for this book are 90–100 hours. It can be used as a teaching material for mechanical and near-mechanical majors in higher vocational colleges, higher engineering colleges, and various adult education institutions, as well as for reference by relevant engineering technicians.
