Features: Since the article on Liu Dazi's "Post Kiss" published in Famous Works Appreciation in 1986, it has been exactly 20 years. Over these 20 years, I have written a series of papers and interpretive texts on Chinese contemporary and modern literature, regional literature, and drama, combining my teaching and research. The 42 articles included in this book are selected from previously published works, most of which were written in recent years, with 10 published just in the past year. In terms of content arrangement, the book is divided into three parts: Classical Interpretations, Three Gorges Literary Discourses, and Dramatic History and Theory. These largely represent my three main research directions. As they are primarily interpretations, reevaluations, and reflections on classic writers, works, and significant literary phenomena in Chinese contemporary and modern literature and drama, the book is titled Reading Classics.
Part "Classical Interpretations" mainly focuses on the study, reevaluation, and close reading of some important writers and masterpieces in the history of Chinese contemporary and modern literature. The second part, "Three Gorges Literary Discourses," examines Sichuan literature from the perspective of regional literature. The third part, "Dramatic History and Theory," is a study and reflection on important phenomena and dramatic works in the development of Chinese contemporary and modern drama.
