The Tang Dynasty monk Tripitaka traveled to the West to spread the Dharma and teach people to do good. On his journey, Tripitaka recruited three exceptionally skilled disciples: the first disciple, Sun Wukong, was the Great Sage Equaling Heaven from the Five Hundred Years ago who caused chaos in Heaven, as well as Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing. The four disciples battled demons and monsters along the way, overcoming ninety-nine and eighty-one trials, and finally reached the West, obtaining the true scriptures.
