What is erectile dysfunction?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I only started dating my girlfriend in my thirties, and I had very little sexual experience before. The first time I touched my girlfriend, I felt very sensitive and ejaculated in less than a minute. I also finished quickly with my hands afterward. My erection hardness is sufficient, but the duration is so short. Is this considered premature ejaculation? But isn't premature ejaculation something that only happens to people who have had excessive sexual activity? Why would I also experience this again? Is it just a psychological issue?

Doctor's answer:

This first sexual experience being fast may be related to nervousness or sensitivity of the glans. It does not indicate premature ejaculation. Erection is normal, likely due to the reason of being the first time. Generally, it is necessary to stop masturbation and check if there is phimosis or other abnormalities. Easily replenish diet and maintain a calm mood. If there is phimosis and sensitivity of the glans, circumcision can be a treatment option. Additionally, masturbation should be avoided. You can also try using condoms during sexual activity or applying dalacin cream locally to relieve glans sensitivity. No need to worry. Premature ejaculation can be stabilized, but the treatment process is usually slow.
