Features: In recent years, under the strong leadership of the Yangzhou Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, through the hard work of the vast number of cadres and masses, the urban appearance of Yangzhou has undergone remarkable changes, its comprehensive strength has continuously improved, and its international influence has gradually expanded. Leaders at all levels and the entire citizenry have sincerely praised these achievements. Building a richer, more civilized, and more beautiful new Yangzhou is a new mission entrusted by the times to the people of Yangzhou. The construction of a cultural Yangzhou is a crucial part of this endeavor. To build a cultural metropolis in Yangzhou, we are willing and able to do some practical things. The publication of the Yangzhou Historical and Cultural Series is a beneficial attempt and also reflects a sense of responsibility and pursuit. After the concentrated publication of series books such as Famous Gardens of Yangzhou at the beginning of 2005, due to the favorable perspective of the topics and the one-time overall launch, it generated a positive social impact, which has made us deeply gratified. Encouraged by the readers, we plan to enrich and expand the "Famous" series of books in Yangzhou. Because we must consider both the fundamental purpose of exploring local cultural resources and promoting the excellent culture of Yangzhou, as well as the practical need to provide references and guidance for today's urban construction and ancient city protection, the selection of topics has become particularly challenging. After repeated discussions, six new books, including Famous Maps of Yangzhou, were finally determined.
