Napoleon Hill told the following life story:
Mr. N's wife contracted pneumonia. When Hill arrived at his home, the first words he heard from him were: "If my wife dies, I will not believe in God."
He invited Hill over because the doctors had told him she wouldn’t survive. She called her husband and two sons to her bedside to bid them farewell.
After Hill arrived, he found Mr. N crying in the hallway, while his two sons were trying to comfort him.
When Hill entered her room, she was already having difficulty breathing. The nurse told Hill that her spirits were low.
Hill quickly realized that the reason the N had asked him to come was to entrust him with the care of her two sons after her death.
At that moment, Hill said to her, "You must not give up hope. You will not die. You have always been a strong and healthy woman, and I do not believe God wants you to pass away."
Hill spoke to her for a long time and prayed, asking for her swift recovery rather than her entry into heaven.
Hill told her to have faith in God and to fight against every thought of death with all her will and strength.
Then, Hill left Mr. N's home.
Before leaving, Hill said, "After the church service, I will come to see you again. By then, I will find that you are much better."
That afternoon, Hill visited again. Mr. N greeted Hill with a smile. He said that after Hill left in the morning, his wife had called him and their sons into the room and said, "Dr. Hill said I won’t die. I will recover, and I feel much better now."
Later, the N fully recovered. This is the power of confidence, and this is the miracle created by confidence. A person must believe that they were born for a purpose, or else their life on earth would be in vain.
