Features: If You Changed, Who Would You Choose?
Friend took a newspaper and asked me to conduct an experiment. I agreed.
Question 1: If you know a woman is pregnant and she already has 8 children, including 3 deaf, 2 blind, and 1 with intellectual disability, and the woman herself has a sexually transmitted disease, would you advise her to have an abortion?
I was about to answer, but my friend stopped me and asked me the second question.
Question 2: Now, an election is taking place, and your vote is crucial. Here are some facts about three candidates:
Candidate A: Associated with some dishonest politicians and practices astrology. He has had extramarital affairs, is a heavy smoker, and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.
Candidate B: He has been fired twice in the past, sleeps until noon, smoked opium in college, and drinks a large glass of whiskey every evening.
Candidate C: He is a decorated war hero, a vegetarian, does not smoke, occasionally drinks a little beer, and has never had an extramarital affair.
Who would you choose among these candidates?
I wrote down my answer, and my friend told me:
Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt, Candidate B is Winston Churchill, and Candidate C is Adolf Hitler.
I was shocked upon hearing the answer. My friend asked, "Did you choose Hitler for the people? Then would you advise that woman to have an abortion?"
I said, "That’s not something to consider. We’ve been educated in eugenics for many years. Why have so many misfits? Let’s not add to the chaos. Of course, I’d advise her to have an abortion."
My friend told me: "You killed Beethoven. She is Beethoven’s mother."
I was shocked again. My friend said, "Surprised? I thought you had a good answer, but it ended up killing Beethoven and creating Hitler!"
What about you? Who would you destroy? Who would you create?
