What are the symptoms of prostatitis?

Patient's question:

Recently, I have experienced symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, dysuria, difficulty urinating, and post-micturition dripping again. Sometimes, milky white discharge flows from the urethra after urination. After researching, it seems similar to symptoms of prostatitis. However, I am very upset about possibly contracting a sexually transmitted disease. What should I do?

Doctor's answer:

1) Frequent urination, urinary urgency, and dysuria: The bladder irritation symptoms may reappear, with patients experiencing frequent urination, urinary urgency, dysuria, weak urine stream, urine splitting, and even terminal hematuria.
2) Urethral and perineal fullness: Prostatitis patients often experience recurrent fullness and discomfort in the posterior urethra, perineum, and anus. The pain is relieved when squatting, defecating, or sitting on chairs/benches for a long time.
3) Radiating pain: The pain of chronic prostatitis is not limited to the urethra and perineum but can also radiate to nearby areas, with left and right loin pain being the most common.
