Selected Prose Poems by Liu Dingzhong

Author: Liu Qinghua

Publisher:
Publish Date: 1996-05-01
Features: Regarding prose poems, the author believes that the mother of prose poems is poetry and the father is prose. Just like hybrid rice, prose poems, born from the hybridization of poetry and prose, have grown into a vigorous and excellent variety full of vitality and endless charm in literature. Only by understanding life can one understand prose poems. The roots of prose poems are planted in the soil of life. Only with deep roots can there be lush leaves, vibrant flowers, and sweet fruits. Prose poems must step out of the author's self, into society, and into the times to truly reach the readers' hearts. Prose poems should not only have the gentle flow of a spring, but also the roaring waves of a river; they should not only feature the soft tunes of oboes and flutes, but also the battle drums and military bugles.
