Features: Lang Sen, born in 1945, Kunming, Yunnan Province, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Yunnan Art Institute in 1966. In 1979, he was admitted to the Graduate Program of the Chinese Painting Department at Central Academy of Fine Arts. He studied under masters such as Li Kuchan and Tian Shiguang, and graduated in 1981, receiving the second prize of the "Ye Qianyu Scholarship." He previously served as an associate professor at the Fine Arts Department of Yunnan Art Institute, a member of the Yunnan Branch of the China Artists Association, and a standing committee member of the Yunnan Branch of the China Calligraphers Association. Currently, he is a professor at the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, a member of the China Artists Association, and has served as a committee member for senior professional title evaluation of the Beijing Education Commission and the head of the expert group for fine arts. In ancient society, those "spiritual aristocrats" either concealed themselves in the court or in the wilderness, in poetry or in wine, because they had to face the "power will" of feudal society. Their psychology was thus only endurance, distortion, or even escape, which was a historical tragedy and an existential destiny for ancient literati and ink painters.
