What is the cause of cerebral palsy in children?

Patient's question:

The daughter of my sister is a premature baby and is now 5 months old, but she still cannot roll over. Children of the same age have already learned to sit. My sister took her to the hospital, and the doctor said it might be cerebral palsy. My sister and her family are all healthy, so how could their daughter have cerebral palsy? What causes infantile cerebral palsy?

Doctor's answer:

Traumatic events during pregnancy often occur in the late stages, and trauma to the mother during pregnancy is closely associated with the onset of neonatal cerebral palsy. Additionally, traumatic pregnancy can lead to reduced placental blood flow, placental thrombosis, and premature rupture of membranes. Even minor trauma can result in fetal death or premature birth. Cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunction can cause brain ischemia in premature infants, such as patent ductus arteriosus, hypotension, pneumothorax, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome.
