How should prostatic cysts be treated when they are healing?

Patient's question:

I am now a manager in the company, and to others, I am already successful in my career. However, recently I have been feeling uncomfortable. My wife insists that I go to the hospital for a thorough check-up. Lately, I haven't known how to urinate as often as before, and it has become much more difficult than usual. The hospital said I have a prostatic cyst. How should I treat it?

Doctor's answer:

Laparoscopic resection of prostatic cysts offers advantages such as clear tissue exposure, short operation time, minimal pelvic tissue damage, reduced psychological trauma, no need for fistula creation, and minimal skin incisions, making it the preferred method for treating prostatic cysts that protrude posteriorly into the urethra or bladder neck. For cysts near the urethra or extending into the bladder, transurethral electroresection of the cyst is the optimal surgical approach. When a patient has persistent high fever, no significant improvement in urinary symptoms, urethral discharge, or difficulty in defecation, prostatic cyst should be considered. Diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound should be employed to confirm the diagnosis, followed by abscess drainage or puncture drainage treatment.
