Through detailed illustrations and text, the series introduces the origin and development of Yangzhou's historical culture. From a micro and architectural technology perspective, it fully showcases the cultural and historical evolution of Yangzhou's famous mountains, bridges, flowers, maps, books, and local products, allowing readers to gain an in-depth understanding of the rich connotations of Yangzhou's historical culture. In recent years, under the strong leadership of the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and through the hard work of the vast number of cadres and masses, the city of Yangzhou has undergone remarkable changes, with its comprehensive strength continuously improving and its international influence gradually expanding. Leaders at all levels and the entire citizenry have sincerely praised these achievements. Building a richer, more civilized, and more beautiful new Yangzhou is a new mission entrusted to the people of Yangzhou by the times. The construction of a culturally vibrant Yangzhou is a crucial part of this mission. To build a culturally strong city, we are willing and able to do some practical things. The publication of the "Yangzhou Historical and Cultural Series" is a beneficial attempt and also reflects a sense of responsibility and pursuit. Since the beginning of 2005, a series of books such as "Famous Gardens of Yangzhou" were published in a concentrated manner. Due to their favorable thematic perspectives and the one-time overall launch, they generated a positive social impact, which has made us deeply gratified. Encouraged by the readers, we plan to enrich and expand the "Famous" series of books about Yangzhou. Because we must consider both the fundamental purpose of exploring local cultural resources and promoting the fine culture of Yangzhou, as well as the practical need to provide references for today's urban construction and famous city protection work, the selection of themes has become particularly challenging. After repeated discussions, six new books, including "Famous Mountains of Yangzhou," were finally determined.
