The publication of the Yangzhou Historical and Cultural Series is a beneficial attempt and also reflects a sense of responsibility and pursuit. After the concentrated publication of series books such as Famous Gardens of Yangzhou at the beginning of 2005, due to their favorable thematic perspectives and the one-time comprehensive launch, they generated a positive social impact, which has made us deeply gratified. Encouraged by the readers, we plan to enrich and expand the "Famous" series of books in Yangzhou. Because we must consider both the fundamental purpose of exploring local cultural resources and promoting the excellent culture of Yangzhou, as well as the practical need to provide references and insights for today's urban construction and the protection of the ancient city, the selection of themes has become particularly challenging. After repeated discussions, six new books, including Famous Bridges of Yangzhou, were finally determined.
