The publication of the Yangzhou Historical and Cultural Series is a beneficial attempt and also reflects a sense of responsibility and pursuit. After the concentrated publication of series books such as Famous Gardens in Yangzhou at the beginning of 2005, due to the favorable perspective of the topics and the one-time overall launch, it generated a positive social impact, which made us deeply gratified. Encouraged by the readers, we planned to enrich and expand the "Famous" series books of Yangzhou. Because we had to consider both the fundamental purpose of exploring local cultural resources and promoting the excellent culture of Yangzhou, as well as the practical need to provide references and insights for today's urban construction and ancient city protection efforts, the selection of topics became particularly challenging. After repeated discussions, six new books, including Famous Shops in Yangzhou, were finally determined.
