Features: American Impressionist Works showcases outstanding works by some renowned American painters from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, all characterized by the Impressionist style, which has enjoyed immense reputation among artists, the public, and collectors since the late 19th century. Bright landscapes, indoor scenes, and portraits reveal the artists' experiments with shimmering light and color, infusing American art with new vitality. Whether it is outdoor paintings capturing the effects of changing light and shadows or works completed in the studio based on sketches made on-site, they all laid the foundation for the more avant-garde paintings that followed.
