Publish Date: 2006-09-01
Features: This book is written in accordance with the requirements formulated by the Editorial Committee of the National Series Textbooks for Automation Majors in Higher Education. It is suitable for undergraduate "Motion Control Systems" courses in automation majors, as well as in electrical engineering and automation and electrical engineering and automation majors in higher education institutions. It can also serve as a reference for postgraduate students in power electronics and electric drive, as well as for engineering technicians engaged in motion control systems. The book consists of 3 parts and 7 chapters, covering topics such as: special issues and mechanical characteristics of controlled power supply-motor systems, performance indicators of open-loop speed-regulating systems, working principles and system structures of AC and DC speed-regulating systems and servo systems, static and dynamic performance indicators and analysis methods, basic characteristics of feedback control, design methods for the structure and parameters of controllers, implementation of control systems, and the application of computer simulation software in motion control systems. The book is organized with control principles as the main thread, following a progressive approach from DC to AC, from open-loop to closed-loop, and from speed-regulation to servo.
The book reflects four characteristics of technological progress and development: the replacement of semi-controlled power electronic devices with fully-controlled devices, the transformation of conversion technology from phase control to pulse-width modulation; the gradual shift from analog electronic control to computer digital control; the gradual replacement of DC motion control systems with AC motion control systems; and the increasing integration of computer simulation and assisted design into the performance analysis and design of motion control systems.
