Patient's question:
I've been married for two years and haven't had a child yet. Is it possible that I have male infertility? I had a pre-marital health check-up when I got married. Is that the issue? I'd like to think about it. What are the symptoms of male infertility?Doctor's answer:
① High abnormal sperm rates: Normal semen also contains abnormal sperm (Table 25-1), generally accounting for a percentage higher than 30%. If the percentage of abnormal sperm is below 50%, it is referred to as high abnormal sperm rates, which can lead to infertility.② Shortened semen liquefaction time: Normal semen is in a liquid state upon ejaculation and immediately forms a gel-like or clotted state. After being placed in a 37°C water bath for 5 to 20 minutes, the semen transitions from a gelated state to a liquefied state, a phenomenon known as semen liquefaction. If this process takes longer than 1 hour, it is referred to as a shortened liquefaction time of semen.
