What is ADHD and how is it treated?

Patient's question:

My son was okay when he was three or four, not very mischievous, but since last year, he has been fighting with other children all the time. We tell him, but he doesn't listen, and he always makes trouble in class.

Doctor's answer:

Children with ADHD may have different causes. It is generally believed that prenatal, postnatal, or mild postnatal brain injury are important factors, primarily related to brain trauma and poisoning. Some people think that urban environmental pollution, and clinically mild lead poisoning symptoms may also be one of the reasons. In recent years, research surveys have compared children of biological parents, foster parents, and other pediatric children, and found that compared to other pediatric children, children of biological parents had a higher incidence of some mental illnesses, such as alcoholism, pathological personality, etc., than the control group. Parents of children with ADHD have more childhood histories, and the incidence of ADHD in siblings of children with ADHD is three times higher than that of the control group.
