Patient's question:
I have been feeling very unwell for the past few months, and my intuition tells me that my body must be experiencing a serious problem again. So, I went to a good municipal hospital for a thorough check-up. Do you need surgery for varicocele?Doctor's answer:
Varicocele can be divided into three grades. Grade III is not palpable. Grade II is palpable but not visible to the naked eye, with dilated vessels that can be felt by hand. Grade III is visible as dilated vessels in the left scrotum, and palpable with completely twisted vessels, like worms, which are clearly palpable. Grades I and II require conservative treatment, while Grade III requires surgical intervention. Traditional surgical methods include inguinal incision, ligation of dilated vessels, and microscopic examination, now more commonly referred to as laparoscopic examination. Endoscopic treatment of varicocele is effective, with minimal psychological trauma and rapid recovery.
