Currently, the civil servant recruitment examination has basically formed a regulatory system for the examination and recruitment process, including written tests, interviews, physical examinations, and assessments. For graduates, civil servant recruitment exams have become a major channel for employment; for social personnel, in recent years, civil servant recruitment exams at central and national government agencies have increasingly shown a trend of providing recruitment positions for those with work experience. Various provinces and municipalities have also organized specialized civil servant exams for social personnel based on different job requirements, making the civil servant exam the best way for social personnel to enter the civil service. As of 2005, over 4 million candidates had participated in civil servant exams at various levels, with over 800,000 being admitted to the civil service. In 2006, more than 360,000 candidates took the national civil servant exam, but only over 20,000 were actually recruited. The level of competition has surpassed the college entrance exam, postgraduate entrance exam, and various qualification exams, truly earning the title of "China's Exam."
