Features: To adapt to the needs of the times and the teaching reform in our institution, we have organized the writing of this textbook based on summarizing years of teaching experience and absorbing research achievements in the field of economic theory. This textbook aims to highlight the following characteristics:
1. In terms of structure and content, it follows the logical connection of the material, starting from Marx's labor value theory, to the theory of surplus value and capital accumulation, to the theory of the movement of individual and social capital, and then to the theory of the division of surplus value, finally concluding with the theory of monopoly capitalism. The content is interconnected, and the theories are progressively deepened.
2. In the explanation of the principles, it strives for accuracy and systematicity. In terms of language organization and expression, it aims to be easy to understand and accept.
3. The analysis of the monopoly capitalism section has been expanded. This book maintains Lenin's basic principles of analyzing imperialism while focusing on analyzing the new changes in contemporary capitalism. It strives to elevate the analysis of new phenomena, situations, and issues such as contemporary state-monopoly capitalism, the internationalization of monopoly capital, economic globalization, and the international relations of contemporary capitalism to a certain theoretical level.
4. It adheres to the principle of seeking truth from facts, starting from reality, and linking theory with practice. It strives to scientifically reflect the actual conditions of capitalism in the theories it explains. Therefore, in the analysis of the capitalist system, it not only reveals the historical limitations and transitional nature of capitalism but also realistically clarifies its historical progressiveness and the advanced achievements in civilization created during its development.
5. Each chapter of this book includes a recommended reading list and review and reflection questions to facilitate students in comparing the original texts for study and reinforcement. This textbook is primarily suitable for undergraduate students in finance and economics institutions but can also be used as a textbook for other undergraduate institutions in liberal arts. It is also suitable for junior college students and self-taught learners of political economy.
