Features: Modernization is a dynamic process of development and change. The factors influencing its progress include politics, economy, ideology, culture, science and technology, and the quality of people, among others. Within each influencing factor, there exists one or several major indicators that can be quantitatively measured and achieved through the efforts of all citizens. These indicators individually constitute obstacles to the modernization process, making modernization a measure of the set of various factors. Given the current misconceptions and vague understandings in the concepts and theories of modernization, as well as in the measurement of the modernization process, this study will explore the modernization process using statistical thinking methods, principles, and tools.
